‘Not this time,’ said Sarama, ‘what I’ve said is really true.’ I’ll merely wake up to find that I’ve been dreaming.’ ‘Is it really true?’ she asked in a shaky voice, ‘I am so afraid of believing anything good, Sarama. Sita looked up, unable to take it all in. Rama has vanquished Ravana and conquered Lanka.’ ‘Sita, Sita!
